Blow It vs Budget Thomas’ New Blue Room
Blue Meets Blue In A Kids Room
Blow It vs Budget
Mel Webber takes us on a tour of two-tone boy’s bedroom
and shows us how to recreate the look
This is Thomas’ room, he’s incredibly lucky to have such a large bedroom but that in itself was a challenge as he’s only 3 and I wanted the room to still feel cosy. He asked for a blue bedroom, so I used my favourite shade Little Greene Hicks Blue to create a half wall paint effect which brings the room in and makes the room feel smaller and cosier at his level. I then added lots of artwork and shelving to break up the white walls. These can be swapped out over time but for now we’re embracing his love of animals and the circus. The bed is by Oeuf NYC and has a seat built into the end where all his favourite cuddly toys live, and I’ve used pretty baskets to store toys and the Ooh Noo toy chest to hold all his books.
Blow It
Budget
And there you have it, a two-tone blue on blue bedroom for your son or daughter to grow up in, there won’t be any expensive updates for several years, unless they massivley go off the colour blue, but bedding and painted walls are easy to update at little cost, the investment in bed and a few other accessories will last for many years to come.
These fab looks can be achieved for £529 or £1,159 and of course the great part is, if you can save on a few items then you might be able to splash out on a luxury piece that can either become part of the family home or it can be re-sold, this is the biggest bonus when investing in good furniture.
