Issue 9

Welcome to the Teen Edition of Rooomy magazine

It’s great to be back with a new issue of Rooomy, it’s been a long time. There are great features from several returning, favourite, contributors in Fi Campos, Lisa Mettis and Lisa Riddoch; they each bring their wonderful professional advice on bedrooms for teenagers along with inspiring designs.

I am also thrilled to introduce new contributor and highly experienced interior designer Fleur Ward, I met Fleur last year at Top Drawer in London when she launched her new wallpaper collection, completely designed with teenagers in mind as she was increasingly frustrated with the lack of inspiring products for teen interiors and always found teen rooms the hardest to create for her interiors clients. Fleur talks us through how to future proof your kid’s room so that it can transition into a teen space easily and inexpensively. You can read all her advice on page 46.

“I love the ‘Miami Baby Vibe’ room and my daughter is now desperate for a lava lamp”

Rooomy Reader, Caro Gomez

As well as all the interiors advice and inspiration we have a wise word from Life Coach Emma Jeffreys, aka Action Woman on how to approach how to talk to talk to your teenage child about their bedroom, especially if you are concerned about them painting their entire space black. Check out page 84. Plus you will still find top accessories, wallpaper and Rooomy Loves items inside.

If you are not parenting a teenager yet, don’t worry, this issue will also give your great ideas on how to future proof your kids room. The experts share key ways to think about what their needs will be when they are older, allowing you to plan smart and invest in items that will last and save you money in the long run.

Don’t forget to send me pics of rooms that you create and good luck keeping your teen happy, alongside you and the rest of your home. Everything inside should make this possible.

Happy decorating
